How much does it cost? - The age-old question, the simple answer... it depends.
Unfortunately there is no one size fits all when it comes to laser work.
Due to so many varying factors such as: type of material, material thickness, size of area to be engraved or cut and so on, there is no definitive figure to cover all jobs.
For example, when engraving metals with a CO2 laser, the laser is ran at a much slower speed compared to engraving glass or woods, and laser cutting 3mm woods may run at a different speed than cutting 3mm acrylic.
Even the colour of acrylic can apply varying factors - red and black acrylics tend to require higher power and slower speeds to achieve a clean cut, due to these colours absorbing some of the energy from the laser.
At RC Laserworks Ltd, each enquiry we receive is priced as per the job requirements, with a single 'Job Setup' fee per order on custom enquiries.
When deciding which laser engraving and laser cutting company to use, there is more to consider than the final price:
'Buy cheap, buy twice' can definitely apply to laser work.
There will always be somebody who will complete your project cheaper than your other quotes. However a laser cutting project with poor quality, ragged cut edges and deep burn marks will often require extensive cleaning, or need to be redone.
Due to the extra cleaning time, this may result in your project taking more time than anticipated, resulting in your project costing you more in the long run.
At RC Laserworks Ltd we use some of the best quality laser machines on the market, allowing us to produce high quality engravings, and clean cuts, with minimal downtime.
